By Faith - Lesson #3

Dear sisters,

 Welcome to your 3rd M&M lesson!  How's it going?  We would love to hear from you - comments, prayer requests, testimony of how the Lord used the verse in your life or someone else's, anything.  Please share so we can be better connected.  You can use mandmladies@gmail.com or the M&M Facebook page.

 One of my favorite things about Barb is that she's "real".  Yes, she is a missionary.  Yes, she is a woman of God.  But she is "real" and struggles with day to day life just like all of us do.  She was having a rough day when she recorded this lesson so sit back and know that you are not alone with the stress we deal with, and that in those moments- THAT is the time to M&M.

Hebrews 12:1,2
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hi Ladies!


One of the ways I serve the church here in Japan is by teaching English…so now I'm much more attentive to our language.  Our English prepositions are little words but can have great impact.  Look AT?  Look TO?  Look FOR?  This week's lesson is about "Looking TO Jesus, and how God used that little phrase in the life of Charles Spurgeon, one of my favorite Christians of all time!

Have you heard this quote before?
Your flesh won’t sit still for meditation and prayer any more than a wolverine would submit to your surgery.  The flesh resists with its last breath anything that smacks of communion with God, because it suffocates in His presence.  If you draw close to God in meditation and prayer, adoring God, getting to know Him, and calling on Him to search your heart, prepare to see the flesh scratch and claw like a wounded badger.

Hi Ladies,
What a life we're called to live!  We're called to live like Moses, who "persevered, seeing Him who is invisible"!!! See Him who is invisible???? 

This is the first video from Japan!  If you want to see a couple short videos I took from our house, check out our blog.  
You'll be encouraged by the recitation time: I mess up a lot! I kept it in the video because I wanted you to see there's no pressure to get it perfect; just keep up the good work; don't quit!

By Faith - Lesson # 1

Hi Ladies!

The introductions are over and we're ready to begin our M&M study.  Let me know if you are having trouble downloading the materials (card printouts and audio files).

Each week I will tell you this week's verse and send you a link to our YouTube video.  NOTE:  Close Captioning is available on the video!  Cool!  This may be especially helpful to our missionary friends.  You can even change the language, although accuracy in languages other than English are not guaranteed :)  I will also be including a link to download just the audio lesson if you'd like to listen to it in your car or something like that.

**The verse for the following week will always be at the very end of our message.**

Hi dear ones,
It's time to start a new term of M&M; and it's new in few ways: it's on video for the first time, our CDs look professional now (no more of my terrible handwritten labeling) AND it's "made in Japan"!  The M&M team (Leslie, Lisa, Jeff and Amy, my hubby Dave and myself) would really appreciate your prayers as we work to make M&M accessible and user-friendly to whoever wants to M&M, wherever she may be.  Praise God with me because there are many places now around God's world where ladies are M&M-ing:

Getting down to business

Hi Ladies!

I told you to expect a few kickoff messages from me.  The new semester starts September 4th and we want to make sure you have all that you need!  Is this your first time doing M&M?  Want to find out more or want to share it with a friend?  Click Here to watch an introductory video featuring our dearly loved Barb Bindewald!  Now for your materials.

1)  Click Here to download all of our verse cards.  Lisa was kind enough to make several different formats for you to choose from.  You can print your own index cards, "business cards", or even just a regular letter-sized sheet of paper.  If you aren't local to LPC and need us to mail your cards, PLEASE contact me.  (mandmladies@gmail.com)  Let me know if you have trouble with the zip file or any other questions.

2)  Click Here to download a zipped folder of all of our verses, in mp3 format.  This includes our beautiful hymn for this semester, All Must be Well, sung by Miss Megan Francis.  (I dare you to listen without getting teary eyed)  You can put these on your Mp3 player or burn them to a CD and listen to them in your car.  A GREAT way to meditate/memorize!  Again, if you have trouble with the file or if you need us to send you a CD, let me know.

The New Era of M&M is HERE!

Ladies-

We are so excited about the new semester of M&M that starts tomorrow.  Introductory emails will be sent soon, but we wanted to share a couple of fun freebies with you!  If you WANT to participate in M&M this fall and you don't receive a bunch of emails from me soon, please contact us ASAP (mandmladies@gmail.com) as you may have fallen off the list somehow.

Want to know more about M&M?

Recently Barb's article about how God used a special dog, Nyack, to show His love during a battle of depression, was published in the "Women of the Harvest" newsletter.  It's a really special story, and if you haven't heard it yet, click here!

If you want to know more about M&M, we'd be happy to share more information with you.  M&M stands for "Meditate and Memorize".  Our focus is on taking bites of scripture, one verse per week, and chewing on it all week long.  We meditate on it, read it, write it, recite it, whatever it takes to bury that verse in our heart.  We do love memorizing, and think it is a good work indeed, but it is not a "requirement" to participate in M&M!  Simply focusing on each verse every week for a semester is a wonderful and beautiful thing.  Each week we add a new verse while we continue to chew on the verses from prior weeks.  By the end of the semester, all 12...or 13...or 14 verses (sometimes Barb gets spunky and adds extras!) become near and dear to us.

For several years, Barb's M&M ministry has grown.  It started with just 10 ladies in a room at Lexington Presbyterian Church, but now it has spread to over 130 women in various churches, various states, and various COUNTRIES around the world.  God's Word is spreading in a mighty way.  To Him be the glory!!!!  To the King!  To the KINGDOM! :)

If you'd like to participate in M&M online, contact us at mandmladies@gmail.com.  That's a great way to start- we can tell you anything you need to know!

 We'd love for you to participate in our new upcoming season of M&M this fall "live" with the rest of us!  I will add you to our email list, and each week you'll get an email telling you this week's verse, a summary of the lesson, and any other information you may want to hear for the week.  This is a new adventure for us as Barb will be making VIDEOS of her lessons from Japan!  We'll put these videos on YouTube for your enjoyment, but will also release the audio in case you want to listen to it in your car or something.
